GUEST POST | Ready for the Beach: Here's A List of Beach Guide Essentials for 20164/07/2016
It seems like it was only yesterday that I was putting on my knitwear and wrapping myself up in thick coats and thicker shawls and yet, summer feels closer than ever as the temperature where I’m at is already starting to warm up. This year has been a bold year for fashion already. Bomber jackets are all the rage and scarves tied around the neck have never looked hotter, so we can expect such boldness to translate on the beach as well.
The beach has always been a space where we can experiment with fashion. Thigh high skirts seem plausible on the sand, if we are not as confident in wearing them as on the street and so goes with the rest of our beach essentials. Of course, you can just as well wear your light white dress and bikini and head down for a lazy day at the beach but if you are one to make a fashion statement, even on an off day, then the following are the beach essentials you need for the coming season.
A show stopping swimsuit
Walking confidently in a swimsuit is bold enough but why not ditch your two piece this year and go for a show stopping one piece? A little bit low on the sides and showing your whole back like this swimsuit via Babyboo Fashion and you will be channelling sexy 90s beach babe!

The perfect beach bag
There’s no way we can ever carry a clutch at the beach to take all of our essentials. Go for the perfect tote this year with a statement graphic or an on trend back pack like this striped one and bring nautical chic to your outfit.

Rock a playsuit
Dresses are easy, as are shorts to style for the beach, but why not go for a fashion piece that you would not dare wear on the street? Rock a sexy playsuit this year at the beach. Go for something backless so you can keep with the same silhouette of your one piece. You can choose lace to channel your inner romantic or a denim romper for cool California style.

If you want Instagram worthy shots at the beach, then this Fujifilm Instax camera is the one to carry along. With its polaroid feature and retro cool filters, this camera will make your beach days look even dreamier.
Ditch the flip flop this season and those wedges and make a statement with lace ups or fringe sandals and rock this spring/summer runway trend to the beach.

The perfect chick lit
Some books are made to be read during long days at the beach. Find the book that will make you laugh out loud (and maybe cry a little) this summer. I got my hands on a tear jerker this season — JoJo Moyes’ Me Before You

While you’re reading, chatting, snooping or snoozing, make sure your face is covered from the harmful rays of the sun. Go big or go home in this case. Try a wide brim floppy hat that will shade your face and make you look like a 1950s screen siren and pair the hat with a great pair of bold shades that suit the shape of your face.

These are the beach essentials that will help you step up your fashion game this year. With this said, there are other things that are always beach essentials, no matter the trends, like a big, soft towel, and sunscreen for my body and my hair. There is the water resistant pouch where I can keep my phone in and lastly, a lip balm that tastes of exotic fruit.
