ZAGREB FASHION WEEK (S/S 2011) - DAY 3

Hi everyone!
Zagreb Fashion Week officially ended yesterday, and it was an amazing experience to be the member of the press. It has its perks like being able to get in before all the other people, sitting in the second row, etc. I love it!
If you know Croatian, you can read my two articles for CroModa about the deay 3 of Zg FW here:
1. http://www.cromoda.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7026&Itemid=36
2. http://www.cromoda.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7027&Itemid=36

So here are the designers that showed collections on day 3 of Zagreb Fashion Week.

ARTIDJANA by Ana
The atmosphere during this fashion show was pretty sleepy, the models were walking slowly and had hangers in their hair. There was a lot of grey, statement metal necklaces and a lot of zippers. All in all, I wasn't impressed.

MARINA PREVOLSEK for MAION
In this collection we saw some beige pants, white dresses, light pink combinations, florals from head to toe, and also turquoise dresses. The statement piece of this collection was definitely the cropped jacket which we saw in different materials, like cotton and leather.

MARA MILOGLAV
Mara Miloglav presented a collection in which clothes were in two colors with some unidentified ornaments sewn into them. In my opinion, this collection was just boring and not worth talking about.

TONI RICO
Toni Rico was the only designer last night who presented a male collection. During the whole fashion show, there was a slideshow being shown on the wall with old pictures of the island Hvar (it's an island in Croatia), and the atmosphere was really fun and happy. Toni's collection was navy inspired with a lot of stripes, nautical blazers, and since the music was really fun, some models even danced a bit... All I can add is - boys just want to have fun! LOL

ADA ZANDITON
Ada Zanditon was a guest from London who presented a collection inspired by the Great Pyramid and the coral reefs. The main characteristic of her collection was definitely structure since most clothes had little pyramids sewn on them and she used a lot of coral colors.

IVANA POPOVIC
Ivana showed a collection with different elements, like ruffles, transparent materials, distressed materials, velvet pants, but the statement piece of her collection was a sequined tank top which almost all the models wore.

BRYCE AIME
Another guest from London, Bryce Aime, presented the most interesting and unique collection of the night in my opinion. Bryce became really famous when Rihanna wore his dress in the video ''Hard''. His collection for Spring/Summer 2011 is inspired by the traditional Japanese theatrical Kabuki costume and the vibrant aesthetic of Beijing Opera. Bryce used a lot of jewel shades in his collection and also designed some avantgarde hats, like the one with huge feathers on it. The most unusual items were the shoes that are even difficult to describe. Here are the pics so you can see for yourself.

So that's all from Zagreb Fashion Week for this season!

ZAGREB FASHION WEEK (S/S 2011) - DAY 2 + BLOG AWARDS

Hi again!
Wow, I have so many things to share with you... I'll start from last night's Zagreb Fashion Week.
Day 2 at Zg FW was really nice and cool... I always say that when I visit fashion shows, but I can't help it... I just love attending them! Especially when I sit in the second row:) You can read my article for CroModa about the day 2 of Zg FW here: http://www.cromoda.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7021&Itemid=36
I don't have a lot of pictures to show you, because my battery depleted... That always happens to me, it's like batteries really don't like me... LOL! Anyhow, here are my reviews and some pictures that I have...

IRENA BARISIC TURK for FATAL
Her collection was really soft and sweet, she used floral patterns and also did clothes for kids. Honestly, nothing special.

VICTOR DE SOUZA
Victor was a guest from New York who showed an extensive collection. It started with black and red dresses, then a red shirt paired with black trousers. Grey trousers with a beige shirt and a strong-shouldered bolero were next, and then we also saw some blue pieces, a bathing suit, and in the end a huge hot pink evening gown.

VEDRANA SEHAGIC for BELISSIMA
During Vedrana's fashion show, three girls dressed as ballerinas stood and danced in the middle of the runway, while the models walked around them. Except that and the statement jewelry, nothing was really special about this collection. She showed a few nice bags too, but that's pretty much it.

IVA KARACIC
This is the collection I liked the least last night. The clothes were oversized, cut in some weird way, and honestly, the materials looked like rags to me. It was supposed to be like a navy inspired collection I guess with reds, whites and blues, but it just didn't work for me.

MARIE ST. PIERRE
Marie St. Pierre was a guest from Montreal last night, whose collection started with mostly whites combined with some bright colored details, and it continued with pastels, but then suddenly we saw some silver creations, some red ones and black ones.

MARTINA SPORIS
Martina's collection was definitely the most unique one of the night. It was all in black and gold, really dark and even apocalyptic I would say. There was a combination of different materials, feathers, and I think the music brought that dark mood to it the best. Instead of regular music, there were all kinds of sounds, like the church bells or the owls. I think Martina wanted to show the transience of time with her collection.

MARTA BUZOLIC
During this fashion show all the models wore red bob wigs, and most of them had long pearls necklaces. There were a lot of business outfits in this collection, but also some short transparent sexy dreses, and a few bathing suits.

NATALIO DJANGRADOVIC
This collection was pretty ''blah'' in my opinion. Just too simple and a bit boring I would say. There was a lot of brown, a few bathing suits, and a few male models too.

That's all from Zagreb Fashion Week - day 2. Now I'll show you what I wore:

-top by Mango
-shorts by Esprit
-tights by Jadran
-boots by Mango
-ring by Accessorize
-necklace by BellaDawn.com
-bag by Dorothy Perkins
-coat by Tom Tailor

I also got two blog awards from my dear followers in the last couple of days! How amazing is that?!
The first one came from the lovely UrbanMermaid (http://alwayssummerontheinside.blogspot.com/) and it's the Versatile Blogger Award.

THE RULES OF THIS AWARD ARE:

Thank and link back to who gave you the award.

Share seven things about yourself.

Pass it along to seven blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy.

I already got this blog award before, so I'm sorry if my seven facts won't be very interesting this time... :)
But here they are:
1. I pick movies that I'm going to see in the cinema mostly by the actors that are in it. If there are no famous actors in it, then it has to be a topic that I'm really interested in if I'm going to see it.
2. I think racism is one of the biggest evils in the world and there's no justification for it in any way.
3. I love cats! I like dogs too, but if I had to choose, I would pick cats.
4. The day I get my first pair of Louboutins will be like a national holiday for me! LOL :D
5. If you haven't already realized that by reading my blog, here a newsflash - I'm obsessed with shoes!
6. I don't get people who don't like shopping... What's not to like?!
7. I'm obsessed with the Barcelona chair by Mies Van Der Rohe. Hope I'll get it one day :)

Here are the blogs I'm giving this award to:
Silvia_C http://meetmeinmilan.blogspot.com

The other award I got  was from Minni (http://minni-fashiondreams.blogspot.com/) and it's called Me Encanta Tu Blog.

I have to answer to some questions for this award, but they're in Croatian, so you won't be able to understand it if you don't know the language... Sorry... :(

To nema nikakve veze s mojim blogom.

5. Koji proizvod dekorativne kozmetike ti je najbitniji?
Puder i maskara.

Evo nekih kojih se sad mogu sjetit: ''Ruska obećanja'' (Eastern Promises), ''Harry Potter''-svi, ''Žena kojoj sam čitao'' (The Reader), ''Vrag nosi Pradu'' (The Devil Wears Prada), ''Grad lopova'' (The Town), ''Aleksandar Veliki'' (Alexander), itd...........

9. Koje države želiš posjetiti i zašto?
Obožavam putovati, tako da bih skoro sve države htjela posjetiti... Ali kao što sam to već puno puta naglasila na svom blogu, naročito Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo i Irsku.

There are no special rules for this award except answering the questions, so I guess I don't have to pick some blogs to give this award to. And alo, I already chose 7 blogs for the other award, so right now I wouldn't even know who to give it to.
Girls, thank you soooo much for giving me these awards, it means a lot to me. Also, I want to thank all my followers for reading my blog and leaving comments.
Hope you liked this huge post; it took me forever to do it:)

ZAGREB FASHION WEEK (SPRING/SUMMER 2011) - DAY 1

Hi guys!
I just came home from Lush. They gave me a facial that I had won earlier, and also a hand massage. Ugh, it was pure pleasure. I really needed that because I'm sooo tired from yesterday, since I came home late from Zagreb Fashion Week, and when I came home I also had to write an article for CroModa about the first day of Zagreb FW. I came home at 11:30 P.M. and I was writing the article until like 1 A.M. And I have to do it all over again today. I'm not complaining, becuase I love doing this, but this treatments at Lush really made me feel better and not so tired.
If you know Croatian, you can read my two articles for CroModa about the day 1 of Zg FW here:
1. http://www.cromoda.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7002&Itemid=36
2. http://www.cromoda.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7003&Itemid=36

This was probably my best visit to a fashion show ever. Since I had a press pass this time I got to seat in the second row (!) and it was amazing. I was taking notes in my Moleskine notebook all the time and taking pictures. I was so happy that I didn't have to stand in a crowd in the back, but instead I was sitting in the second row and it was really cool and relaxing.
When I write articles for CroModa I have to be pretty much objective, but that's why I have my blog, so I can write my personal opinion here. There were a lot of designers at the first night of Zg FW. The first part of the night was called Pret-A-Design, which in this case means that the young designers had a chance to present their collections. The main designers of the night presented their collections in the second part of the night.
Since there were a lot of designers, I'll mention all of them, but I will put only one or two pictures per designer, because there's just too much of them to put a lot of pictures for every designer.
So here we go.

PRET-A-DESIGN

IVA SIMUNOVIC
This young designer's collection mostly consists of black and white bandage dresses. The models were walking very slowly and didn't have shoes on. Some of them had some red ornaments on their heads, like a mask or a bug.

ABA TOMICIC
Her collection was very girly and youthful. It was mostly white, but the intersting elements were flowers made out of fabric and sewn on the dresses, skirts, shirts and even socks.

ZRINKA HUDI
Her collection consists of short summer dresses and she did a few pieces for kids too.

ANA CURIC
Ana Curic's collection was all in black and red, which looked pretty wild.

IVANA KUZMINSKI
This collection consists of short dresses with a fitted bodice and a wide bottom part with ruffles.

JELENA ALEKSIC
This designer used a lot of purple. There were some nice shorts and pants in my opinion.

ERNA OSTANEK
Erna was a guest from Ljubljana, Slovenia. She used a lot of whites and neutrals, and her creations are very flowy.

KRISTINA LOVKO
Kristina was another guest from Ljubljana, Slovenia. My favorites were the gorgeous flowy summer dresses that were shorter at the front and longer at the back.

THE MAIN PART OF THE EVENING

LOUIS DE GAMA
Louis De Gama is a guest designer from London who comes to Zagreb Fashion Week every season. His collection was probably my favorite from the first night. The first part of the collection consists of the color black in the combination with some other colors (like white or purple). There were also a lot of fun summer dresses, mostly in purple, black and pistaccio green. Louis used a lot of lace in the second part of his collection. One dress was entirely made out of white lace.

ZJENA GLAMOCANIN
Zjena was obviously inspired by the Orient. The entire collection was black and sparkly. All the models wore turbans on their heads and the music was oriental too.

DANIELA MARTINOVIC
Her collection was very girly and youthful. I love how she used pastel colors.

NATALIJA SMOGOR
Natalija Smogor was the only designer yesterday who showed a men's collection. Her entire collection was in whites and neutrals and in natural materials, such as cotton.

LANA JOZIC for DEVOTIO
There was a whole performance going on during this fashion show. It started with all the models covered with white sheets and they started walking after they took it off themselves. We had a chance to see black dresses in this collection with transparent long puff sleaves which had pictures of children on the front. A memorable moment was definitely a jumpsuit on which it said ''Peace, not war''. The message of the show is very clear.
The second part consisted of another little performance. This time, the models didn't walk on the runway. Instead, they danced all the way from the beginning to the end. It was interesting and unusual.

KARIM BONNET
The last designer of the night was a guest from Paris, Karim Bonnet. His collection was VERY colorful. Actually, not so much the first part of the show, but the second part... There was an explosion of colors, and pearls, and fringes, and - everything! The shoes were really interesting to me because they were unique. I wouldn't wear something like that, but it's always good when something is special. See for yourself.

That's it from the first night! Hope you liked this post and I would love to hear your comments!
xoxo Sienna
