Yesterday I was contacted by Sarah, who works as a fashion events assistant in London, and she asked me if I would be interested in previewing Vjera Vilicnik's new collection on my blog. I thought it was amazing that she contacted me, but on the other hand I wasn't very familiar with Vjera's designs... Then I checked out Vjera's official website and I fell in love with her clothes! If you don't know much about her, here's some info...
Vjera Vilicnik is a Croatian-born designer who will show her new collection for the first time at LGN Events' off-schedule London Fashion Week ''A La Mode'' in February. She studied Haute Couture embroidery at the prestigious Ecole Lesage and she had the honour of working with amazing designers like Tom Ford, Roksanda Ilincic, Max Mara, etc. Vjera has a huge passion for embroidery which she developed during her time at Ecole Lesage and wants to prove that, dispite its dated reputation, it can still be modern. That can very well be seen in her Spring/Summer 2011 collection with carnations crafted out of silk chiffon and feathers hand-sewn onto garments.
I can't believe that she's Croatian and I wasn't familiar with her work at all... I just love discovering new awesome designers! Here are some pictures from the preview of her new collection that she will present at London Fashion Week for the first time. I absolutely love it! The colours and embroidery are amazing, and the fabrics seem really beautiful and high quality.
